Perception Notes
01 — DEPTH
How little visual information is needed for space to remain perceptible?
Depth does not require a complete representation of space. A shift in tone, a receding line or the meeting of barely distinguishable surfaces can be enough for spatial relationships to emerge.
As familiar references, scale and orientation are reduced, these minimal cues become more significant. The image may approach flatness, yet depth persists.
Space is no longer simply represented. It emerges through the act of seeing.
